Abstract

The Romanian Constitution stipulates that "people's army will be subject only to guarantee the sovereignty, independence and unity of the state, territorial integrity and constitutional democracy. Under the law and international treaties to which Romania is party, the army contributes to collective defense in military alliance systems, and participates in the maintaining or restoring peace".
