by John M. Polimeni & Raluca I. Iorgulescu - 32-43 ASSESSMENTS ON THE REMITTANCES DESTINATION FOR CHILDREN? S EDUCATION Our study identifies how remittances are used in migrants’ families and evaluates the amount of money targeted for the education of the children “left behind”. In order to carry out the analysis, we collected micro-data from a survey elaborated by the National Scientific Research Institute for Labour and Social Protection in August 2014. The survey was addressed to 300 households and showed that in general there are different "profiles" of the respondents, of the migrants, of those who sent/brought money at home and of those with children “left behind”. Our econometric model confirmed and nuanced the findings highlighted by the survey data analysis. More precisely, the attitude of migrants with children “left behind” is more careful and financially responsible, since the share of parents who send money or return with money surpasses that of remittent migrants, in total. Moreover, remittances are mainly used for daily needs and in order to support the children “left behind” to further on focus on their education. As a particularity of the “profile” shown from the survey, it seems that migrants who send money especially for school fees, school supplies, textbooks, etc. They are in general male, with low-medium education level, committed to support children and to provide them better conditions for learning, training and development. The econometric model confirms this “profile” (there is a smaller probability of migrant women to send money for tuition fees payment -65.5%) and it reinforces the claim on the responsible attitudes of migrant parents (families with larger numbers of children “left behind” spend more money on "education": the likelihood of spending remittances for school fees increases 84.7% for every more child)

The purpose of this study is to examine theoretically the activities taking place in hotels, also the principles and activities aimed at decreasing the negative impact upon the environment. We examine sustainable development that relates to the particular sector of touristic activity, more specific - in the domain of the accommodation in hotels, case in which, the sustainability aimed at maintenance of a high quality standard that caters to tourists, in spite of repeated rationalization, and on various levels and plans (energy, water consumption, disposal of waste etc.), so that it is promoted and adopted, so called "environmental behaviours", framework in which the hotel activity still has the benefits of managerial, economic and competitive, that ultimately lead to customer satisfaction (quality) and profit for the operators on the other hand. In short, we examine a viewpoint that plots the sustainable framework for hoteliers
by Ada Mirela TOMESCU - 43-55 ROMANIAN ECONOMIC PROGRAMS AND STRATEGIES FROM THE EU INTEGRATION PERSPECTIVEAbstract: Competition Policy is - by its two components: in a specific language known as "antitrust" and state aid - a barometer of market operation, a component of a functional market economy. Although this chapter makes no direct reference to macroeconomic indicators, the promoted policy is defined by discipline, the behavior of economic actors in the market. The success of the competition policy is reflected in the existence of a strong cultural competition expressed at the level of the economic operators by respecting the game rules set by the legislation

by Andy Constantin LEOVEANU - 66-72 THE IMPACT OF THE APPLICATION OF INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS FOR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS - A NEW CHALLENGE OF THE KNOWLEDGE ERA Abstract: The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) is a multinational agreement for the purpose of establishing international standards for intellectual property rights enforcement. Disguised as a Trade Agreement, ACTA is far broader in scope. The agreement aims to establish an international legal framework for targeting counterfeit physical goods, such as medicines and violation rights on the Internet, creating a new governing body outside existing forums (World Intellectual Property Organization). This study comprises research on the importance of the E.U. multinational companies dealing with the valuation of their intangibles, analyzing some aspects that will positively or negatively affect values such as brands, movies, software, and other components of the intangible assets. By debating on ACTA interact with the intangible assets managed by a company; having in mind the tremendous importance of these assets, from juridical and financial view, the results are revealed by the for or against arguments. So enforcing international intellectual property rights standards becomes a crucial challenge of the knowledge era
