Die Shift-Share-Analyse als Instrument der Regional- und Clusterforschung

Abstract

Die Shift-Share-Analyse wird insbesondere in der Regionalökonomik häufig angewandt, um die Entwicklungsdynamik von Regionen im Vergleich zu übergeordneten Regionen abschätzen zu können. In diesem Aufsatz wird das Konzept der klassischen Shift-Share-Analyse nach Dunn (1960) leicht nachvollziehbar anhand eines Beispiels dargestellt. Dieses Verfahren eignet sich dazu, einen ersten Eindruck der wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung, häufig der Beschäftigungsentwicklung, von Regionen zu gewinnen. Allerdings ist die Shift-Share-Analyse rein deskriptiv, weshalb ihr Erkenntniswert in der Literatur immer wieder kritisiert wird. Ein Instrument, das die kritisierten Mängel an der Shift-Share-Analyse behebt, ist die Shift-Share-Regression, deren Grundzüge ebenfalls dargestellt werden.
