Internationale Migration und Einkommensverteilung: Eine außenhandelstheoretische Analyse

Abstract

In einem Allgemeinen Gleichgewichtsmodell werden die Auswirkungen internationaler Arbeitskräftewanderungen auf die Einkommensverteilung im Zu- und Abwanderungsland untersucht. Das bekannte Ergebnis, daß eine marginale Migration bei konstanten Güterpreisen die Wohlfahrt der Nichtmigranten unbeeinflußt läßt, wird hinsichtlich der Verschiebungen in den nationalen Einkommensverteilungen genauer analysiert. Bei endogenen Güterpreisen sind die Einkommensverteilungswirkungen im allgemeinen nicht eindeutig signierbar-Möglichkeiten zur Größenabschätzung mit Hilfe empirischer Daten werden aufgezeigt. Für die Welt insgesamt führt Migration zu einer Pareto-Verbesserung, wenn Lohnsatzdifferenzen die Wanderungsrichtung bestimmen. Staatlich implementierte Systeme zur Einkommensumverteilung können dagegen eine Wanderung in das Niedriglohnland induzieren.
