Projektmanagementsoftware und Scheduling: Aktuelle Bestandsaufnahme von Funktionalitäten und Identifikation von Potenzialen

Abstract

Das Projektmanagement gewinnt aufgrund kürzerer Produktlebenszyklen und eines schnelleren technologischen Wandels an Bedeutung. Für ein erfolgreiches Projektmanagement ist die Unterstützung durch geeignete Projektmanagementsoftware erforderlich. Da hierfür zahlreiche Produkte auf dem Markt sind, befasst sich diese Studie mit einer aktuellen Bestandsaufnahme der angebotenen Funktionalitäten und darauf aufbauend mit der Identifikation entsprechender Weiterentwicklungspotenziale. Die Bestandsaufnahme wird auf die drei Softwaresysteme Microsoft Project, Oracle Primavera und Spider Project begrenzt, da diese weit verbreitet sind (Microsoft Project und Oracle Primavera) oder spezielle Schedulingmethoden bewerben (Spider Project). Der Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf Funktionalitäten, die dem Scheduling dienen - einer Teilaufgabe des Projektmanagements, bei der mathematische Methoden zur Berechnung eines zielorientierten Projektablaufplans eingesetzt werden. Somit untersucht diese Studie auch, inwiefern wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse auf dem Gebiet des Schedulings bereits in die praktische Anwendung übertragen wurden. Die Erkenntnisse dieser Studie werden systematisch aus Literaturquellen, Herstellerangaben, Tutorials, Nutzerbewertungen und Erfahrungen aus der experimentellen Arbeit mit den Demoversionen zusammengetragen. Für die drei untersuchten Softwaresysteme wird festgestellt, dass eine intuitive Benutzeroberfläche, diverse Hilfestellungen bei der Bedienung und verschiedene Visualisierungsmöglichkeiten generell einen hohen Grad an Benutzerfreundlichkeit sicherstellen. Die individuellen Restriktionen praktischer Projektplanungsprobleme können in den Softwaresystemen größtenteils adäquat hinterlegt werden, wobei auch Grenzen und somit Weiterentwicklungspotenziale festgestellt wurden. So können beispielsweise zeitliche Mindest- und Höchstabstände zwischen einzelnen Vorgängen eines Projekts in allen drei Produkten eingegeben werden, während sogenannte kumulative Ressourcen zur Abbildung begrenzter Lagerkapazitäten lediglich in Spider Project vorgesehen sind. Funktionalitäten zur Berechnung eines zielorientierten Projektablaufplans werden ebenfalls in allen Produkten angeboten, wobei hier Potenziale bei der Qualität der Ergebnisse oder der Auswahl möglicher Zielsetzungen bestehen.
