Internationaler Handel, dynamischer Wettbewerb und nationale Beschäftigungsstruktur: eine Bestandsaufnahme für Deutschland

Abstract

Dieser Beitrag untersucht den Zusammenhang zwischen internationalem Handel, dynamischen Wettbewerb und nationaler B eschäftigungsstruktur anhand einer Bestandsaufnahme der empirischen Literatur für Deutschland. Untersuchungen der relativen Güterpreisentwicklung im internationalen Handel zeigen, daß der interindustrielle Handel kaum zur überdurchschnittlichen Arbeitslosigkeit geringer qualifizierter Arbeitskräfte in Deutschland beigetragen hat. Die zunehmende Spezialisierung Deutschlands auf den Export qualitätsintensiver Produktvarianten im intraindustriellen Handel deutet jedoch darauf hin, daß die durch einen dynamischen grenzüberschreitenden Wettbewerb ausgelösten Anpassungsprozesse in der Produktionsstruktur deutscher Unternehmen die Beschäftigungsstruktur im Inland beeinflussen.
