Wie stark belasten pandemiebedingte Arbeitsausfälle die Wirtschaftsleistung?

Abstract

Mit den stark steigenden Corona-Infektionen können Arbeitsausfälle zu einem zusätzlichen Belastungsfaktor für die wirtschaftliche Aktivität geworden sein. Umfragen zufolge waren zu Jahresbeginn rund 40 Prozent der Betriebe von pandemiebedingten Arbeitsausfällen betroffen (IAB 2022; ZDH 2022). Damit stellt sich die Frage nach den gesamtwirtschaftlichen Auswirkungen, zumal derzeit viele zusätzliche Faktoren (z.B. Möglichkeit im Homeoffice zu arbeiten, Ausfall der Kinderbetreuung oder Quarantäneregelungen) einen spürbaren Einfluss auf das Ausmaß der Arbeitsausfälle und deren wirtschaftliche Bedeutung haben.
