Regionale Banken erhalten, aber wie? Bankensysteme in Spanien, Deutschland und Vereinigtem Königreich im Vergleich

Abstract

* Laut Koalitionsvertrag will die neue Bundesregierung für den Erhalt regional tätiger Sparkassen und Genossenschaftsbanken kämpfen. * Tatsächlich reduziert sich die Anzahl regionaler Banken zurzeit fusionsbedingt stark. * Unser Vergleich der Bankensysteme von Deutschland, Spanien und dem Vereinigten Königreich legt drei Erfolgsfaktoren regionaler Banken nahe: - Räumliche Nähe sowie Einbettung in einen unterstützenden Regionalbankenverband - Die Entwicklung zu "echten" dezentralen Universalbanken - Das Zusammenspiel aus Regionalprinzip, regionaler Einbettung und einem nationalen Umverteilungssystem * Es gilt die drei Erfolgsfaktoren zu erhalten, dazu kann die viel diskutierte Regulierungsvereinfachung für kleine Banken (Stichwort: Small Banking Box) einen Beitrag leisten. * Zusätzlich konnte ein Programm, welches die Kreditprüfung auch fur die Fälle, bei denen Kredite nach intensiver Prüfung nicht vergeben werden, fördert, den Kreditzugang für Firmen verbessern. Dadurch wurden nicht nur regionale Banken, sondern alle Banken, die sich auf die Finanzierung kleiner Firmen konzentrieren, unterstützt.
