Internationalisierung der Dienstleistungserstellung: Konsequenzen für den schweizerischen Arbeitsmarkt

Abstract

Dieser Beitrag untersucht die potentiellen Beschäftigungseffekte von Direktinvestitionen der Unternehmen des Dienstleistungssektors für die Schweiz. In einer theoretischen Perspektive werden zunächst die Konsequenzen der Besonderheiten von Dienstleistungsgütern gegenüber Industriegütern für die heimischen Beschäftigungseffekte analysiert. Hierbei zeigt sich, dass die bisherige Forschung wesentliche Determinanten systematisch ausklammert. Denn nicht allein der Grad der Handelbarkeit der Dienstleistungsgüter, sondern gleichfalls die Mobilität der Konsumenten und Produzenten sowie die den Auslandsinvestitionen zugrunde liegenden Motive sind zentral für die Eruierung der zu erwartenden Auswirkungen auf den inländischen Arbeitsmarkt. Eine erste empirische Überprüfung unseres Ansatzes bestätigt schließlich für die schweizerische Tourismusbranche die theoretisch vermuteten Zusammenhänge.
