Utilizzo e diffusione della valutazione economica dei beni

Abstract

La valutazione economica delle risorse naturali fornisce al decisore pubblico una base informativa ampia e condivisibile, in grado di orientarne efficacemente la decisione. Essa quindi può favorire il raggiungimento degli obiettivi di miglioramento e di integrazione ambientale che gli indirizzi dell’Unione Europea prevedono. L’articolo, dopo una sintetica lettura critica della valutazione economica dei beni ambientali e un inquadramento generale del suo utilizzo, intende definirne il ruolo in Europa. La sua rilevanza viene pertanto letta attraverso la verifica della diffusione presso la Direzione Ambiente della Commissione delle pratiche valutative, e mediante un riscontro quantitativo dell’attività scientifica. Infine, vengono offerti alcuni spunti di riflessione relativi al processo di valutazione e alle sue fortune in Europa.
