Gibt es eine optimale Frauenquote?

Abstract

Die Einführung europäischer oder nationaler Geschlechterquoten mit dem Ziel der Chancengleichheit für Frauen wird derzeit heiß diskutiert. In Deutschland ist der Frauenanteil in den Führungspositionen relativ gering und die Lohnlücke zwischen Männern und Frauen relativ groß. In diesem Zusammenhang stellt sich die Frage, ob eine Geschlechterquote diese Problematik beseitigen könnte. Der vorliegende Artikel zeigt, dass eine staatliche Intervention nicht zwangsweise zu einer höheren gesellschaftlichen Wohlfahrt führt. Auf unternehmerischer Ebene kann eine Frauenquote das Gesamtproduktionsniveau vergrößern, wenn sie moderat gewählt wird.
