Gender, Poverty and Intra-Household Distribution of Resources

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between gender and poverty through analysis of intra-household distribution of resources. The study attempts to remove the assumption that resources are shared equally between all household members and proposes a method of evaluating unequal sharing of resources between male and female adults, and between adults and children.
