Technology choice, adaptation, and diffusion in privately and state-owned enterprises in India

Abstract

Comparison of choice of technology, adaptation and technology transfer by public enterprises and private enterprises in India - based on sample survey of heavy industry (pumps and compressors), pharmaceutical industry and heavy electrical industry firms, compares organization behaviour, management decision making, Innovation research and development, productivity, etc.; finds that foreign owned multinational enterprise subsidiarys do not sell technology; considers the role of patents and licensing. Questionnaire.
