Abstract

Working paper on trends in immigration and internal migration of black migrant workers in South Africa R, from 1973 to 1983 - discusses reduced economic role of foreign workers and factors influencing labour demand and labour supply; reviews the implications of Apartheid for migration policy, especially commuting from the homelands and the urban area employment of woman workers; outlines labour legislation affecting labour mobility; notes personnel policy in gold mines employing mainly indigenous workers. Restricted.
