Abstract

Working paper on the impact of trade policy on economic growth, employment creation and income distribution, comprising a case study of Philippines - discusses trends (1950-1982) relating to economic disparity, unemployment, labour intensive export oriented industryalisation, import substitution, industrial production, trade structure, Terms of Trade, inflation, etc.; provides an evaluation of industrial policy and employment policy; outlines present obstacles in adjustment strategy.
