Abstract

Working paper on unemployment and the educational system in Tanzania - discusses limited employment opportunities and underemployment of school leavers and university graduates, limited success of educational reforms for self reliance, student attitudes to civic service, the impact of increasing enrolment in primary education, rural migration and slow economic growth, etc.; outlines lessons for developing countries. Bibliography, diagrams, organigram and references.
