Abstract

"Benefit recipients were surprisingly successful in taking up new jobs: In 2008 they were hired into 1,177 Mio. jobs covered by social security and into 565.000 Mini-Jobs. Jobs were often in the low wage sector, so that only 44 p.c. of full time jobs led to an end of benefit receipt. 55 p.c. of jobs were of short duration and had ended before six months of tenure."
