Los costes económicos de la obesidad y el sobrepeso

Abstract

El análisis económico de los costes económicos de la obesidad y el sobrepeso diferencia entre los costes sanitarios directos y los costes indirectos. Los costes indirectos están relacionados con las pérdidas que las personas que padecen sobrepeso y obesidad tienen y que repercuten en la sociedad en su conjunto. Todos los autores son unánimes al expresar que estos superan ampliamente a los directos. Los costes directos son los relacionados con el gasto sanitario. Este trabajo presenta una revisión de la literatura sobre los costes económicos que ocasionan tanto la obesidad y el sobrepeso como las patologías asociadas.
