Analyse microstructurelle du comportement du teneur de marché des changes : étude intra-journalière de l'activité d'un teneur de marché tunisien

Abstract

L'objet de cet article est d'analyser si l'activité intra-journalière d'un teneur de marché des changes tunisien peut être décrite adéquatement par les modèles microstructurels, développés par Madhavan et Smidt (1991) et Lyons (1995). En d'autres termes, ce papier analyse l'impact des facteurs informationnels et du degré d'aversion au risque du teneur de marché sur ses stratégies de prix et de position. Cette application de la théorie de la microstructure porte sur des cotations intra-journalières des taux de change USD/TND et EUR/TND, pour la période allant du 1er janvier 2002 au 27 novembre 2003. Les résultats obtenus confirment, en ce qui concerne le taux de change USD/TND, l'effet microstructurel de l'aversion au risque du teneur de marché sur ses stratégies de position et de prix. En outre, un effet informationnel provenant des ordres de la banque centrale est à signaler. En dépit de la libéralisation croissante du marché des changes tunisien, les différentes formes d'interventions de la banque centrale de Tunisie continuent à peser sur la détermination des cotations de change USD/TND et EUR/TND.
