Abstract

L'information est une source incontestable de compétitivité des entreprises dans une économie fondée sur le savoir. Elle permet la déstabilisation des concurrents, dans le cadre d'une « guerre de l'information » dont les armes portent sur la connaissance et le renseignement sur les stratégies des acteurs internationaux ou nationaux. L'information bien ciblée constitue un investissement essentiel dans le système de concurrence internationale. L'intelligence économique est un exemple « d'économie mixte ». Le système de l'Advocacy Policy ou du « War room » du Département de Commerce permet de soutenir l'action des entreprises nationales par l'apport d'informations ciblées et d'aide à la gestion des problèmes administratifs. Cependant, l'intelligence économique est une arme redoutable qui révolutionne les conditions de la compétition mondialisée des échanges.. Les maladies de l'intelligence économique sont l'espionnage industriel (illégalité dans la recherche de l'information, atteinte à la vie privée), les virus, le piratage informatique, les écoutes téléphoniques.
