Abstract

Les bouleversements du travail causés par la pandémie de COVID-19 et les évocations du monde d'après cette pandémie nous renvoient aux utopies qui accordent une place centrale au travail et soutiennent qu'il faut changer le travail pour changer la société, du 19 e siècle à nos jours. Mais quel rôle revient au management dans ces utopies ou rêves d'une société idéale ? Dans cette communication, nous montrons, tout d'abord, comment l'utopie au travail, présente dans le roman Travail (1901) de Zola, interroge le rôle du management. Puis nous confrontons l'utopie zolienne et celles qu'imaginent des penseurs contemporains. Nous analysons enfin les implications managériales de la démocratisation du travail prônée par les utopistes du 19 e au 21 e siècles.
