Abstract

Ce papier présente les principaux résultats d'un programme de recherche visant à comparer l'impact de formes urbaines polycentriques spécifiques sur les caractéristiques des migrations alternantes (entre le lieu de domicile et le lieu de travail). A cet effet trois aires urbaines (au sens de l'INSEE) ont été comparées : celle de Lyon, qui présente une configuration des localisations encore largement monocentrique en dépit de la présence de plusieurs pôles d'emploi, celle de Marseille-Aix, qui est principalement duocentrique (Marseille et Aix en Provence formant deux centralités structurantes), et enfin l'aire urbaine de Lille qui présente quatre centralités de taille relativement équivalente : Lille, Roubaix, Tourcoing et depuis quelques années Villeneuve-d'Ascq. Notre objectif était de déterminer l'influence de ces trois formes urbaines sur les migrations domicile-travail des actifs résidant et travaillant dans chacune d'entre elles.
