De l'économie informelle à l'économie populaire solidaire : concepts et pratiques

Abstract

C'est au début des années 1970 que les économistes ont forgé le concept d'économie informelle pour les pays du Tiers-monde. Cependant, le débat épistémologique tend à estomper dés les années 1990. Il en découle un décalage croissant entre les études empiriques et le soubassement théorique. Aujourd'hui, la diversité et l'hétérogénéité du contenu que recouvre la notion d'économie informelle sont telles que cette catégorie sémantique ne peut plus fonctionner comme un concept. Mais, aussi bien dans les grandes métropoles du Tiers-monde que dans les zones rurales, des expériences de création d'activités économiques génératrices de revenus sont mises en œuvre par les populations dans un esprit de solidarité sans pourtant être déclarées aux autorités. Un nouveau concept d'économie populaire solidaire est entrain d'être forgé. Peut-il être appliqué dans le contexte des pays du Nord ?
