Abstract

The Neo-Austrian contribution as regardsentrepreneurship is inserted within a dynamic settingtaking account the regional fact. An introduction tothe Kirznerian theory of entrepreneurship is firstproposed. We deal more specifically with the conceptof alertness, the absence of entrepreneurial cost froman analytical viewpoint, and the costs and incomesexpected from entrepreneurial action, relative toother kinds of activities, in situation of incompletesystem of markets. The occupational choice byindividuals and the effects of entrepreneurship oneconomic growth are then discussed since theregional dimension of economic activities isintroduced into the argumentation. A systemicapproach of occupational choice and growth results inhighlighting that the effects of entrepreneurial actionon economic growth cannot be considered withoutdifficulty independently of the feed-back effects onthe individual occupational choice parameters, afortiori in reference to a whole set of localizedeconomic resources and activities in interrelationshipor interaction.
