Abstract

In a context in which Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools are increasingly integrated into the workplace, this article looks at user experience when experimenting with these innovative technologies. Focusing on ease of use and the facilitating conditions necessary for satisfactory use from the experimenter's point of view, the study reveals some of the underlying dynamics of human interaction with GenAIs. Using a quantitative methodology, the article analyzes data collected during sandbox experiments in a telecommunications company, focusing on GitHub Copilot and MS365 Copilot as GenAI tools. The results reveal that the perceived ease of use of GenAIs comprises several components, such as the effort required and the need for corrections. In addition, facilitating conditions, such as training and technical support, play a crucial role in the adoption of these technologies. In conclusion, this research lays the foundations for an understanding of the constructs of perceived ease of use and facilitating conditions specific to GenAIs, and how these interact with the satisfaction of experimenters, thus promoting the harmonious and responsible integration of RMIs into the contemporary world of work.
