Abstract

Creativity is usually assimilated to the genius of the creator who, in his ivory tower, writes, composes, draws, paints, sculpts, ... It is not, however, reserved for the traditional world of art but operates in industrial mass production. Culture, selected and sedimented into heritages, appears as a productive input in cultural industries, and - what is less studied - in luxury industries. The paper shows the increasing role of heritages within the very heart of the capitalist production of luxury goods.
