Abstract

As well-being at work is multidimensional, several profiles combining its different dimensions in an original way are likely to empirically exist. Using the Factor Mixture Analysis classification method on a sample of 865 employees, we identified in this paper five profiles which are quantitatively and qualitatively different. We showed that this distinction was relevant by comparing the strength of the links between each of these profiles and absenteeism and turnover intentions. The person-centered perspective reveals that these relationships are often underestimated when a variable-based approach is chosen. The results obtained helped us to better understand the complexity of the concept of well-being at work. They provide valuable information for future hypothetico-deductive research and for practitioners who want to improve or reinforce the well-being of their employees.
