Abstract

The proportion of elderly in the world population is increasing. Health systems across the globe are ill prepared to meet the needs of aging populations. The needs of the elderly are different from the rest of the population. There is a need to reengineer the health systems so that the health outcomes of the elderly are optimized. [Plos Medicine].
