Kriminalität, ihre Ursachen und ihre Bekämpfung: warum auch Ökonomen gefragt sind

Abstract

In diesem Beitrag wird zunächst die Notwendigkeit einer ökonomischen Kriminalitätsforschung aufgezeigt. Im Anschluß daran wird ein Überblick über diese vor genau 30 Jahren mit einem viel beachteten Aufsatz von Gary Becker begründete Forschungsrichtung gegeben. Neben der Vorstellung der wichtigsten theoretischen Arbeiten zur Ökonomik der Kriminalität umfaßt der Beitrag eine Diskussion ausgewählter Bestimmungsfaktoren von Kriminalität in enger Anlehnung an die empirischen Forschungsergebnisse. Der Beitrag endet mit einem Ausblick auf den weiteren Forschungsbedarf.
