Latifundio, de Yoknapatawpha a Macondo

Abstract

Hay dos formas de explicar por qué las naciones pueden ser pobres: una, porque tienen escasez de recursos naturales, humanos o en equipos de capital. Y dos, la diferencia entre la riqueza y la pobreza puede ser explicada por “la calidad de las políticas públicas y las instituciones” (Olson, 1996, p. 19). Los países con las mejores instituciones y políticas obtienen el máximo de su potencial, mientras que los otros, con las peores instituciones y políticas son ineficientes y pobres.
