Territorios funcionales: un análisis del gradiente rural-urbano para Colombia

Abstract

Observando los patrones de desplazamiento entre el lugar de residencia y el lugar de trabajo en 1115 municipios, se realiza un análisis jerárquico de conglomerados para identificar territorios con un alto nivel de interacción económica (Territorios Funcionales). A su vez, se identifica un gradiente rural-urbano de los territorios en Colombia que incluye desde territorios rurales profundos hasta regiones metropolitanas. Con un total de 438 Territorios Funcionales identificados, se describen las principales características económicas y socio-demográficas, mostrando tanto la tendencia entre los periodos 1993 y 2005, así como algunas diferencias de género. Finalmente, comparamos la definición oficial" de rural-urbano con el gradiente identificado en este trabajo. "
