La durabilité, la traçabilité et la pérennité du secteur agroalimentaire québécois passent par l’accélération de la numérisation

Abstract

avec la collaboration de Christophe Mondin Pour favoriser l’achat et la production locale et pour renforcer les chaînes d’approvisionnements tout en accélérant le virage écologique du secteur agroalimentaire du Québec, il faut impérativement numériser ce secteur. Car seule la numérisation de la production, de la transformation et de la distribution des aliments générera les données nécessaires à l’atteinte de ces objectifs. La numérisation permettra également de « retracer » les aliments que nous produisons et ainsi de valider leur qualité et leur provenance, des exigences devenues incontournables tant sur les marchés domestiques qu’internationaux. Grâce à ces données sur l’écosystème agroalimentaire québécois nous pourrons rendre nos chaînes d’approvisionnements plus résilientes et mesurer, et ultimement réduire, l’empreinte écologique des filières agroalimentaires. Pour que la numérisation de ces filières soit une véritable priorité, il faudra, au préalable, réunir certaines conditions : doter toutes les régions agricoles de connections à internet haute vitesse, établir un état des lieux pour chaque filière, créer rapidement un centre de vigie pour profiter des expériences étrangères et mobiliser, pour plusieurs années, une équipe dédiée à la réalisation de ce projet. Des conditions exigeantes certes, mais ô combien structurantes pour l’économie québécoise.
