Abstract

Talented employees are a critical factor for every organization. Managing the talent pool is the most intricate area of any organization. It covers identification, attraction, and development of employees. The most challenging, however, is retaining these talents. To ensure these talents stay, organizations are deploying retention strategies that try to mitigate the factors that typically drive employees to leave the organization. This chapter focuses on the analysis of business needs that drive retention strategies taking account of disparities in the attributes and needs across different generations in workforce. It also discusses the factors that should be considered when designing an effective retention strategy.
