Nivel educativo y empleo en el periodo 2005-2009: Un análisis comparado entre la población ocupada española y extranjera

Abstract

En la primera década del siglo XXI, España pasa a ser un país receptor de un número importante de extranjeros que se incorporan al mercado laboral. En plena crisis económica, la destrucción de empresas y empleo ha sido también importante y el resultado ha afectado a españoles y extranjeros, pero no en igual medida. Este trabajo analiza la evolución de la población ocupada española y extranjera en el periodo 2005-2009. Asimismo, se utilizan los micro-datos de la EPA del año 2009, a los cuales se les aplicará un Análisis de Correspondencias Múltiples, con el objetivo de detectar posibles asociaciones entre las variables objeto de estudio (nacionalidad, nivel educativo, empleo por cuenta ajena, empleo por cuenta propia y actividad económica) y comparar los resultados. Los resultados muestran cómo la crisis afecta especialmente a los extranjeros y, sobre todo, a los ocupados en determinados sectores de actividad.
