Die Rolle der amtlichen Statistik innerhalb des Datenökosystems

Abstract

Selten war der Bedarf an aussagekräftigen, aktuellen und qualitativ hochwertigen Daten aus Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft so groß wie in der derzeitigen COVID-19-Pandemie. Neben dem Statistischen Bundesamt als zuverlässiger und etablierter Statistikproduzent treten zunehmend auch andere Akteure in Erscheinung, um den Bedarf an relevanten Daten zu decken. Der Beitrag beschreibt Geschäftsstatistiken und Daten privater Anbieter, die zusammen mit der amtlichen Statistik ein Dreieck in einem Datenökosystem bilden. Er untersucht deren Unterschiede zur amtlichen Statistik und ob sie unter den Gesichtspunkten Neutralität, Qualität und fachliche Konzentration den an die amtliche Statistik gestellten Ansprüchen entsprechen.
