Chinas außenwirtschaftlicher Aufstieg

Abstract

China ist mittlerweile eine der größten Exportnationen der Welt. Der außenwirtschaftliche Erfolg Chinas basiert auf dem starken Exportanstieg von Produkten des Verarbeitenden Gewerbes – vor allem der Elektroindustrie. Im Handel mit den Regionen Nordamerikas und den Ländern der Europäischen Union werden hohe Wachstumsraten und nunmehr auch Handelsbilanzüberschüsse erzielt. Das außergewöhnlich starke Wachstum des Warenhandels wird wesentlich durch die Zuströme von Direktinvestitionen nach China angetrieben. Diese Entwicklung gewann vor allem in den neunziger Jahren an Tempo. Im Jahr 2002 war gut die Hälfte der chinesischen Exporte und Importe auf Unternehmen in ausländischem Besitz zurückzuführen. Auffällig ist allerdings, dass die Direktinvestitionen in direkter Betrachtung vor allem aus den Ländern Asiens und nicht aus Europa oder Nordamerika fließen.
