Auswirkung der Verbundbildung auf die Preise in österreichischen Skigebieten

Abstract

Die Preise von Tagesskipässen sind, wie eine Regressionsanalyse zeigt, aufgrund der Aufweichung des Wettbewerbes in Skiverbunden um bis zu 18% höher als sie in einem unabhängigen Skigebiet wären. Auch im Bereich der Mehrtagespässe wird der Wettbewerb durch die Verbundbildung verwässert. Die Konsumentenrente für Mehrtagesgäste kann in Skiverbunden dennoch höher sein als ohne Verbundstruktur, sofern alle Verbundteile auch tatsächlich genutzt werden. Die Nettoauswirkung dieser entgegengesetzten Effekte (Kosten und Nutzen) kann jedoch nur mit Hilfe genauer Information über Nachfrage- und Nutzungsverhalten der Mehrtagesgäste errechnet werden. Die vorliegenden Ergebnisse empfehlen eine umfassende Branchenuntersuchung durch die Bundeswettbewerbsbehörde.
