Erwerbsinaktivität und soziale Sicherungssysteme: Ein europäischer Vergleich

Abstract

In einem Vergleich mit anderen europäischen Ländern weist Österreich eine leicht überdurchschnittliche Erwerbstätigenquote und einen relativ geringen Anteil der Arbeitslosen auf. Allerdings bezeichnen sich relativ viele Erwerbsinaktiven in Österreich grundsätzlich als arbeitsbereit, was auf ein großes ungenütztes Erwerbspotential hindeutet. Für die Sozialpolitik besteht Spielraum zur Steigerung des Arbeitskräfteangebotes vor allem in Bezug auf Frauen mit Betreuungspflichten sowie auf ältere Personen.
