Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the development of an integrated decision support system that will permit planners to address the multiobjective nature of the sitescreening process. This decision support system will consist of three distinct decisionmaking technologies: a geographical information system (GIS); a rule-based system (RBS); and a multiobjective programming model (MPM). that will be linked together in the form of an integrated spatial information system (ISIS). The result is expected to be a powerful, flexible and interactive decision support system that will assist in the effective planning and management of land resources.
