An Empirical Study on the Factors That Affect Employee Motivation and Their Relationship with Job Performance

Abstract

This paper focuses on the importance of motivating the employees to get superior work behaviors in order to accomplish organizations goals. Motivation is caused in employees through various extrinsic and intrinsic factors. Today the employees in Pakistan seem to be demotivated because of various reasons. This study focuses on the identification of factors of motivation and the relation of motivation with job performance. The main findings of this study revealed that positive working environment, opportunity of gaining quality experience, alignment of skills and job done by the employees and benefit packages have a significant effect on the motivation and the job performance.
