The Role Of Chinese Media In Promoting Sustainability

Abstract

Sustainability and sustainable development are major concerns and ultimate goals all over the world and nowadays it is evident for every single actor or country that achieving such goals requires a common and continued effort. China, as one of the biggest countries in the world in terms of both inhabited area and number of inhabitants is both committed and willing to achieve sustainability and to become one of the good examples worth emulating. In China’s efforts of attaining sustainability and achieving the target of a green development, a major role is played by media institutions, which are the suitable means of raising the awareness level and providing a genuine and viable development. By a thorough literature review, the main objective of the current paper is to emphasize the role of Chinese traditional and digital media in promoting sustainability and to present their potential of changing behavior.
