An Assessment of the Impact of Workers’ Education on their Earnings in Russian Regions

Abstract

The article studies the impact of education of the employees working in Russian regions on their earnings. The method of weighted regression analysis with dummy variables is made use of. The data are taken from Rosstat for the period of 2002–2005. Presence of statistically significant dependence between income and educational level as well as assets procure-ment of labor is determined. Taking into account the level of regional urbanization and economy as well as their natural and cli-mate specifics contributes to improving the quality of regression fitting
