Abstract

[fre] Croissance et dépenses de défense dans les pays de l'Asean. . La fascinante croissance de certaines des économies asiatiques au cours des trente dernières années a fait l'objet de nombreuses analyses dans lesquelles l'influence des dépenses de défense n'est jamais évoquée. Pourtant, l'économie de la défense a étudié de façon très approfondie les relations entre dépenses de défense et développement économique. L'article examine dans quelle mesure cette littérature peut éclairer notre compréhension du développement des pays de l'ASEAN. Ce rapprochement suggère qu'il y a là un domaine de réflexion intéresxant pour une histoire économique de ces pays. [eng] Growth and defence expenditures in asean countries. . The fascinating growth of several East and South-East Asian economies during the last thirty years has been the subject of numerous analyses in which the influence of defense expenditures is never mentionned. However the effects of defense expenditures on development and growth has been extensively explored by defense economics. The paper examines in what extent this littérature can help for a better understanding of the development of the member Nations of the ASEAN. This connection suggests that this subject cannot be neglect for a comprehensive economic history of these countries.
