Abstract

[fre] Marx et l'économie des conventions. . [eng] Marx and the economes of conventions . . The French institutionalist school known as The economics of conventions puts the stress on non market devices for the coordination of economie activities. Such conventions may be seen at work in Keynes, for the financial market, or in Piore and Doeringer, for the labor market.. This paper shows that it is also the case of Marx. Such a re-interpretation proves to be very fruitful as it copes with two major shortcomings of the marxist theory : the impossible transformation of complex labor into simple labor and the impossible transformation of values into priees of production. The sociological and monetary interpretation of the marxist theory of value is therefore reinforced.
