Abstract

[fre] Salaires, demande et chômage : une perspective internationale. . Cette étude présente des estimations d'équations de salaire et d'emploi pour la plupart des pays de l'OCDE. La structure empirique, basée sur les travaux de Layard et Nickell, étudie simultanément la demande de travail, la détermination des prix, la détermination des salaires et la demande agrégée. L'article permet de conclure à une élasticité significativement négative de la demande de travail par rapport au salaire et à l'influence du « corporatisme » des syndicats (notion définie dans le texte) dans l'ajustement du marché du travail. [eng] Wages, demand and unemployment: an international comparison. . The paper presents the estimation of wages and employment equations for most OECD countries. The empirical structure, based upon the work of Layard and Nickell, examines simultaneously the demand of labor, the determination of priees, the determination of wages and aggregate demand. The article concludes that the elasticity of the demand of labor with respect to wages is significantly negative and shows the influence of « corporatism » of unions (defined in the text) on the adjustment of the labor market.
