Abstract

[eng] Spatial equilibrium and neighbourhood effects :. A generalization of the analysis of the bidimensional case. andré grimaud. Most urban economics rnodels are based on the hypothesis that there exists a Central Business District toward luhicli ail the displacements in the city are made. However, in some modela, this hypothesis is suppressed and the use of euclidian distance leads to important difficulties because displacements are not of location- CBD kind. In such cases, authors generally assume a long-narrow city in the sense. of Solow and Vickrey, that is a one-dimension space.. The purpose of this paper is to present a method which allows to generalize these models in the bidimensional case, using the arc-radial distance. . After a presentation of this concept, we use it to generalize and to develop in the bidimensional case the Beckmann's model of " the dispersed city ".
