Sélection naturelle et rationalité absolue des entreprises

Abstract

[eng] Natural selection and substantive rationality of business firms. Pierre-André Chiappori. The « natural selection » argument has often been raised to support profit maximization. The present paper argues that this argument needs some very unrealistic assumptions to hold. Moreover., a simple model is used to show that Friedmans conclusion do not stem from his hypothesis, and that a careful analysis of sélection processes requires rather a procedural rationality approach.
