This paper presents a microeconomic model of performing arts production under various organizational objectives : the policy, in term of average price and quality, of a profit making institution is tlius contrasted with the policy of a non-profit one, under two behavioral schemes, maximizing quality or maximizing audience, under a construira of budgetary equilibrium.. Using a total surplus criterium, it is further shown that neither the profit-making nor the non-profit policy is socially optimal with respect to either quality or price. Selecting an appropriate institutionnal arragement is thus a matter a second best choice.. Finally, introducing public subsidies, their effects are demonstrated to be dependent upon the strategic objectives of the organization. Under certain circumstances, public subsidies may involve an increase of both quality and average price : this perverse effect obviously runs against the reasons generally given to explain the state intervention in the cultural field, which insist on the necessity of promoting a large cultural diffusion. [fre] Le papier présente un modèle d'analyse microéconomique d'une institution de production dramatique en envisageant différentes hypothèses de comportement : la politique de prix moyen et de qualité d'une organisation de type marchand est comparée aux politiques obtenues dans le cadre d'une institution à but non lucratif, qui maximise soit la fréquentation soit la qualité sous contrainte d'équilibre budgétaire.. A l'aide du critère de surplus total, on montre ensuite qu'aucune politique n'est socialement optimale : le choix organisationnel éventuel ne peut donc qu'être un choix de second ordre.. Enfin, l'effet des subventions publiques est analysé en fonction du type d'objectif choisi par l'institution : on montre alors comment, dans certaines circonstances, la subvention peut entraîner un effet de relèvement simultané de la qualité et du prix, ce qui constitue un exemple de politique à caractère contre-redistributif. Des données relatives à l'Opéra de Paris, à la Comédie-Française et aux Maisons de la Culture illustrent ce dernier effet.
