Cet article utilise un panel de données original relatif à des groupes de négociation pour analyser certains aspects de la détermination des salaires dans les modèles du droit à gérer. Des mesures empiriques du pouvoir de négociation des syndicats et des firmes sont obtenues, qui apparaissent avoir un rôle important dans la détermination des salaires. L'influence des caractéristiques des syndicats sur la fixation des salaires est analysée. Les résultats confirment l'importance de ces dernières et apportent un nouvel éclairage sur les résultats obtenus par des études antérieures. De plus, nous montrons que non seulement la situation macro-économique, mais également les caractéristiques des marchés locaux du travail affectent les salaires négociés par delà la situation macro-économique. This paper uses a unique panel of data at the level of the bargaining group to examine aspects of "right-to-manage" models of wage determination. Empirical measures of firms' and unions' bargaining power are identified and found to be important influences on wage setting. The role of union characteristics in wage determination is examined. Results confirm their importance and illuminate previous survey findings. Features of the local labour market are shown to affect bargained wages over and above the influence of aggregate factors.
