Abstract

Buyer markets increase pressure on companies to innovate. Innovation key performance indicators support companies in planning, steering and controlling their innovation process. Using an empirical study with 190 companies this article shows the effects of quality and use of innovation key performance indicators on financial innovation success, market success and individual management performance. Results indicate that quality and use have significant impact on success through their influence on effectiveness and efficiency of innovation activities, on existing skills in innovation departments as well as on the manager’s job-related information.
